I first started swing trading some years ago when it names like “Position Trading” and “Active Trading” and so on. The systems I used then included standard technical analysis tools such as RSI, CCI, Moving Averages and the like, and I found that it was a difficult task to try and get accurate and timely signals for the “Swing Trader”, and boy did I lose a some dollars learning!

The main points of Swing Trading is that you trade any market long or short for a period of 1 – 30 days for a profit. So it’s the intermediate or short term trend you need to follow. Now certain events influence the market at any time and although we need to take these into account using our system we usually discount those using the unique direction system and indicators that I have developed over the last 3 years, SwingTradingLab (© STL series of indicators).

I studied the markets and read books and quickly learnt by my own mistakes that if you follow consensus opinion and media reports the less successful you’ll be!

After some time I developed a series of my own indicators, the STL indicators. These are the best I have ever produced and by using them along with market sentiment, seasonal patterns, COT and Insider information provides solid robust system for trading.

It takes patience, tenacity and a solid focus to keep on top of the market and most of all admit and acceptance responsiblity for your own actions. Any form of technical or fundamental analysis and forecasting is really an art form more than a science and the development of style and tools is the real advantage over the market.

Now, I want to share my knowledge and provide other traders the same level of education to help with the art of technical and fundamental analysis to really make a difference in their trading.
